CHAIRMAN : SeHAT – School Health Action Teachers Training Project (1994)

Targeting 500 primary schools of Bombay and Delhi Municipal Corporations and 250 schools of Delhi Govt., over a phased 5 year programme, has been a part of Education-for-All - (EFA) Project sponsored by Indian Dental Association in collaboration with Appropriate Health Resources & Technologies Action Group (AHRTAG) of U.K., National Council of Education Research & Training (NCERT), the Municipal Corporations of Bombay and Delhi and Delhi Govt.  This is a  child-centered and school based programme of health education and health-promotion, seeking to implement curriculum-oriented, participative health education through a modular approach, enhancing Teachers’ confidence and competence in health subjects supported by the Health personnel.  SeHAT is designed to support and complement the EFA  Project and to provide an integrated, comprehensive health input, while the EFA can concentrate on its educational objects.  Like Oral Health Self Care Project (OHSEC), it has been developed and implemented by the Education Department with an equally vital role of providing health inputs from the Health Department.
