Dental Council Of India (1990)
Had been the President for about 12-1/2 years of the Dental Council of India – an apex body created under an Act of Parliament for maintaining uniform standard of dental education throughout the country and for granting recognition to dental qualifications, besides regulating the dental profession. As administrative head of the Dental Council of India, besides ensuring the above, had been particular in ensuring adherence to the norms
prescribed under the Dentists’ Act and by the Dental Council of India in respect of teaching staff, infrastructural facilities etc. in the Dental Colleges throughout India.
Organized Golden Jubilee Celebration of the Dental Council of India throughout the country in the year 1998 in order to bring about wider awareness about the importance of oral health care amongst the masses. Several programme, including Workshops at the national as well as State level, were organized throughout the country, in addition to various orientation lectures, state level Meetings, Seminars, Continuing Dental Education programmes for the teachers, private practitioners and researchers, Radio talks, T.V. interviews and other activities like free Dental Check-up Camps etc. etc.
