After a long-drawn process, achieved the goal of introducing Post Graduation at the level of National Board of Examinations for the first time in India, leading to the degree of D.N.B in Dentistry, which earlier existed  in Medicine only.  Due to acute shortage of post graduates in dentistry in the country there has been a consistent demand from Dental Graduates to create avenues for pursuing higher studies to enable them to serve the community better and become Dental Surgeons of highest quality.

 

One of the most difficult tasks had been to introduce new subjects in Dentistry, but  Ministry of Health & F.W. endorsed and approved the idea of introducing post-graduate courses in dentistry at the national level.  We had only M.D.S. post graduate courses at few places with a very limited admission and our graduates had no other opening except to go abroad to acquire  post graduation, which only a few could afford due to high cost of education in a foreign country. But with the introduction of the ‘Diplomate of National Board’ we have been able to solve the problem of acquisition of higher education, to a great extent.
